Infastructure Management

FCC provides a dynamic advisory service amongst others to property owners, tenants and internet service providers. Infrastructure connectivity is provided to enable true Open Access Network services to both ISP’s and end users/tenants in terms of a Single Trench Policy.

True Open Access involves choice Backhaul Suppliers:

FiberCom Connect (FCC) acts as a neutral host amongst Backhaul Suppliers and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to understand their requirements, manage their operating activities and ensure True Open Access on the permanent infrastructure of the property.

One of the fundamental elements of True Open Access is ability for an ISP to choose which Backhaul Supplier provides the best and cost-effective solution towards its End User (Tenant). The presence of multiple Backhaul Suppliers foster competition, provides redundancy, and deliver competitive service offerings at various speeds to the market.

End Users (Tenants) also benefit from the choice between ISPs if those ISPs have an option between various Backhauls Suppliers at the property.

Information Management via Single Trench Policy:

Our aim is to promote the installation of permanent fiber infrastructure in properties to avoid the duplication at any time. This infrastructure is then managed on an Open access basis whereby equal access is available to all ISPs for the utilization of such infrastructure.

Benefits of the Single Trench Policy include:

  • Protection of property infrastructure and utilities.
  • Enhancement of uniformity in rapid deployment.
  • Limitation of security risks, including Cyber-security.
  • Limitation of unutilized and duplicate fibre infrastructures.
  • Reduction of overall costs to Network Operators for deploying infrastructure.
  • Telecoms and related infrastructure managed as third utility through record keeping of infrastructure installed as part of the policy.

Cyber Security:

Companies will continue to face new security threats made possible by vulnerable and compromised infrastructures, typically those on uncontrolled environments.

Implementation of the Single Trench Policy results in a controlled environment between the relevant role-players. The permanent installation of fiber infrastructure makes for a more controlled environment. Access to Telco rooms and Nodes are controlled.
